Our physician team, nurses, social workers, cancer rehabilitation therapists, nurse navigators and other specialists are highly skilled and experienced in the field of oncology. Having participated in some of the world’s most promising clinical trials, our physicians are at the leading-edge of the latest diagnostic and treatment techniques for our patients. Finding a cure and enhancing quality of life are at the forefront of all we do. In addition, we have created special support groups, education, rehabilitation services, and spiritual counseling for patients and their family members while they are in our care, after discharge and throughout their cancer treatment. Our patients will never have to take their journey alone. The Director of the Oncology Program reports to the VP, Strategy/Business Development and is accountable for providing a vision, leadership, and promoting innovation in developing and implementing strategies and policies to provide high quality patient care in a cost-effective manner. This job places strong emphasis on the following outcomes: delivery of quality services, applying best practices, creating a highly-effective work unit, developing and retaining excellent personnel. The Director is a change leader in the department and works closely with the Medical staff and Orange Coast Medical Center leadership team for marketing and development of the OncologyProgram.

The ideal candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree, a Master’s degree is preferred. Five years of oncology leadership experience, and health promotion in the acute care hospital setting. Demonstrated experience and competency in operations improvement, program development, organizational development, and financial management. Knowledge of current leadership, management, and quality improvement principles. Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, hospital leadership, genetic counselor, and clinicians to support a variety of associated committees, programs, and events. Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory requirements for areas of responsibility (e.g. Joint Commission, CDPH,(?), Commission on Cancer, NAPBC). |
