Provides excellent patient centered care coordination services through clear, concise written and verbal communication and ongoing collaboration with all members of the care team including the patient, family and caregivers. Coordinates, leads and participates in multidisciplinary case conferencing as needed to ensure adherence to the clinical research care plan. Participates as an active member of the care management team to provide care coordination to patients identified through clinical trials screening, referrals, nurse rounding and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Serves as the clinical research resource to the care management team as well as nursing units in seeking to improve care coordination and documentation for clinical research patients.
Assures compliance with protocol details and completes necessary records, coordinates scheduling of subject, monitoring visits and adverse events. Educates patients, ancillary departments and staff to maintain protocol. Communicates and collaborates with Principal Investigators and sponsors.
Reviews, coordinates and implements new clinical trials. Ensures informed consent process has occurred and is properly documented. Obtains appropriate authorizations and completes all data resource documentation prior to randomization.
Identifies and assesses potential study candidates. Reviews protocol inclusion/exclusion if occurred.
Ensures quality study flow regarding correspondence, continued review and study termination reports. Develops a working knowledge of study budgets and billing processes.
Coordinates with pharmacy staff and dispensing of study medications. Assures proper documentation of medication dispensed.
Responsible for maintaining correspondence with hospital and/or research affiliate Regulatory/Compliance group in order to maintain necessary IRB correspondence and meets renewal, amendment and/or expedited review requirements.
Assists Director with interviewing and hiring of new staff and other tasks as necessary.
At least one year of experience
Current Colorado or Compact State RN License. OCN certified or eligible at time of hiring. SoCRA or CCRP certification must be obtained within 3 years of hiring.
