The Attending Physician 12 for Anesthesiology and Pain Management is responsible for patient care, resident's training, daily administrative duties, and will conduct quality assurance projects per the needs of the Anesthesiology Service. The scope of these activities covers hospitalized patients and all phases of ambulatory care. The majority of the anesthesiologist's time should be devoted to patient care. The time for administrative duties and quality assurance activities will be offered based on the needs of the department.
Must be licensed as a physician in the State of Illinois or have the ability to obtain license prior to starting employment
Must have successfully completed an Anesthesiology Residency training
Must be Board certified or eligible in Anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiologist (ABA)
Must have Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training
Board certified or eligible in Critical Care
More than two (2) years of experience in an academic program
More than two (2) years of critical care experience (including neuro and cardiac)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS
Ability to participate in the safe administration of blood and blood products ensuring that all protocol is followed
Knowledge of instructing oral surgery residents, surgical residents, anesthesia residents, and interns in clinical anesthesia
Ability to participate in the development and implementation of program planning, objectives, policies and standards essential to the delivery of quality anesthetic care
