The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science (Bayview campus), Division of Behavioral Medicine, is seeking a pain psychologist with clinical and research experience in chronic pain management and / or posttraumatic stress disorder. This position involves providing inpatient and outpatient clinical services for the Johns Hopkins Regional Burn Center, adult patients and their families. This academic position (rank will be commensurate with qualifications) involves at least 40% effort providing clinical services as part of an interdisciplinary care team of surgeons, nurses, psychiatrists, social workers, occupational therapists, and nutritionists. Inpatient experience working with burn patients is preferred, but not required. Clinical duties include: evaluation of mental health, behavioral and substance abuse care needs; coordination with consultation liaison psychiatry; and providing brief inpatient and outpatient psychological services. There is ample opportunity and expectation for the candidate to develop collaborative, externally funded, clinical research programs. Applicants must have training and/or experience in behavioral medicine or health psychology; have experience providing evidence-based treatment with a wide variety of psychiatric, substance use and behavioral needs. The successful applicant will join the Division of Behavioral Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry to compliment strong externally funded research programs in chronic pain, sleep disorders, weight loss, bariatrics, and anxiety.
