Manager, Clinical Research-Emergency Medicine
Capable of building strong relationships based on trust, the approachable communicator we select for this vital role will provide leadership, strategic management, and administration for the clinical and translational research program of the Emergency Medicine division. Supervising, managing, and professionally developing the clinical research staff, including clinical research coordinators, this professional will be the key operational interface among the funding agencies, research center, research team, and principal investigators. Responsibilities include:
Monitoring, directing, and performing day-to-day operations to ensure that policies and procedures are followed, objectives met, and services/projects run effectively.
Developing, implementing, and managing research and organizational processes.
Overseeing implementation of research plans and dissemination and application of findings in conjunction with the director of research and principal investigators.
Managing and overseeing pre-award and post-award activities related to sponsored research activities for the division in conjunction with the Office of Sponsored Programs.
Preparing research budgets, contract negotiations, and post-award management.
Performing the functions of a clinical research coordinator for a portion of divisional studies.
Collaborating with a multidiscipline team of physicians and staff to maintain an environment where customer service and employee satisfaction are encouraged.
Assisting principle investigators in preparing applications for funding, and managing existing grants and contracts.
Preparing and submitting regulatory documents to the government and/or sponsoring and providing insight to other responsible research staff.
Master's degree in a related field with three or more years of experience in clinical research, OR a bachelor's degree with eight or more years of experience in clinical research financial management or research award administration.
Expert knowledge of FDA guidelines and good clinical practices.
Excellent leadership, organizational, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills; and strong analytical ability.
Thorough understanding of financial budgets and reports, and knowledge of hospital information systems.
Ability to make independent decisions, establish priorities, and react promptly with minimal supervision and a high level of discretion and confidentiality.
Knowledge of OMB circulars including A-21, A-110, cost accounting standards, indirect cost rate application, FAR and CFR.
Certification as a clinical research Professional (SOCRA) or clinical research Coordinator (ACRP).
Employee supervision and management experience.
Project management experience.
Experience with Cayuse 424/SP.
Working knowledge of basic data management and statistical analysis.
