Nurse Practitioner- Vanderbilt Lung Screening Program
The VLSP NP independently provides clinical care to patients referred for lung cancer screening CT in the form of shared decision-making consultations and tobacco treatment. The Nurse Practitioner is a resource to patients and referring providers and actively engaged in research projects and publications within the program. The Nurse Practitioner is under the supervision of the radiologist and program director.
Shared decision-making consultation visits
Comprehensive tobacco treatment counseling and prescribing
Coordination and communication with referring providers regarding eligible patients, results of imaging, and follow-up plans
Orders appropriate follow-up imaging
Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals
Assist with clinical trial enrollment and fulfillment of research efforts
Participation in research discussions and publications
Shift Mon-Fri 8am-5pm
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program
Current TN Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Licensure
Current provider card in Basic Life Support (BLS) as required by department and facility
Strong computer skills, especially with electronic health records
Eligible for Hospital privileges
