Full Time, Days
You Will Be Responsible For:
Serve to lead change process development, work with Director to provide organizational leadership for selection and optimization of IT systems, and research IT-domain specific change management.
Responsible for evaluating performance and effectiveness of how research teams evaluate, use, optimize, maintain and change information technology platforms.
Works with Director and Vice President for Research Operations to lead selection and optimization of research electronic clinical platforms, and design, implementation and maintenance of systems to maximize performance, processes, and system interoperability (e.g. clinical trials management systems, EMR, trial matching, participant navigation, clinical pathways and other systems). .
Works with system subject matter experts (clinical research systems, information systems, compliance systems) and market research (e.g. Gartner) to review practice standardization and study participant outcomes at a systems, institute and departmental level.
Utilize critical thinking to assess research process improvement to create efficiencies, cost savings and institute growth. Identifies problematic systems/ process issues. Work with research planning, research operations and research services teams to develops plans to improve, and monitor outcomes.
Coordinates and guides activities/projects to improve desired outcomes and to promote integrated health care that is safe, equitable, timely, effective, and efficient.
Supervise AHRI Technology Team.
What You Will Need:
Bachelor's degree in relevant field
5 years of experience in healthcare, research, biotechnology or related field
related to research and/or healthcare
2 years progressive leadership experience
Prior experience leading information technology projects
Prior experience with change management, or willingness to learn
Working knowledge of clinical information systems connected to clinical research (such as PowerTrials, electronic health record, clinical trials management systems, regulatory system, grants management system, electronic data reporting, clinical pathways). (preferred)
Knowledgeable of aspects of clinical and translational research
Master's degree in relevant field (preferred)
Degree or certification in field related to information technology or engineering) (preferred)
Reporting to the Director of the Institute Development Office, the Manager for Institute Technology & Research Systems leads a highly experienced and skilled team focused on streamlining processes associated with technology, creating organizational clarity around the research, and maximizing the effectiveness and efficiency of technology connected to research.
The position leads selection, optimization, implementation and maintenance of technology and systems for research across the enterprise, processes connected with use of technology in real clinical, translational and populational health-oriented research settings, and how people use technology to maximize organizational effectiveness. The position partners closely with teams in AdventHealth Research Institute (AHRI), AdventHealth Information Technology (AIT) and the AdventHealth Institutes (Cancer, Cardiovascular, Digestive Health & Surgery, Neuroscience and Orthopedics) to review, implement and optimize institute technology
