Position Summary: Responsible for performing installs, repairs and maintenance to a variety of equipment including: refrigeration, air conditioning, electric motors, heating units, heat pumps, hermetic compressors, light commercial furnaces, boilers, burners, intake and exhaust fans, economizers, humidifiers, capacity controls, semi-hermetic compressors, split systems, flame safeguard controls, air compressors, air driers, and packaged units. Essential Duties: 1.Check in with office for scheduled jobs after the completion of each job and at the end of each work day. 2.During and or at the end of each task complete all company provided forms to the fullest extent possible. 3.Responsible for time management of jobs scheduled each day. 4.Check in with stake holders at the beginning and end of each task. 5.Upon completion of each task record time spent at each job on the weekly time sheet, work order system TMS. 6.Hand in paperwork at the end of each week for processing in sequential order, complete in work order system TMS. 7.Ensure all vendor packing slips or invoices for each job are secured to the related job forms. 8.Ensure all materials used for each task are listed properly in the work order system, TMS. 9.Assist on job sites with other trades and mechanics. 10.Check in as needed to ensure directors and/or field supervisor are aware of your status. 11.Secure parts and tools needed throughout the day for various jobs as required. 12.Must maintain a safe work environment at all times and use proper safety equipment. 13.Responsible for the daily preparation of the parts and tools for each dayï¿½s activities. 14.Complete work in a timely and workman like manner. 15.Coordinate with supervisor for the use of company tools and ensure they are returned to the office in a timely manner. Competencies Required: 1. Fully understands and has mastered: a.Refrigeration cycles to include: identifying components in advanced refrigeration circuits, understanding how each component works, diagnosing and correcting problems in the refrigeration circuit, using manifold gauge set, pressure/temperature chart and temperature measuring devices for routine maintenance and to troubleshoot. Understands refrigeration recovery, evacuation and charging, understands the installation and sizing of refrigerant piping. b.Heating cycle to include: identifying components in heating system, understanding how each component works, diagnosing problems in the heating system using a gas pressure test and other devices for routine maintenance and to troubleshoot and repair. Fully understands and has mastered the theory of combustion and how it relates to combustible fuels such as gas and oil. Must be able to perform a combustion analysis on all combustible heating systems and analyze its results. c.Electron theory, how electricity travels, AC and DC currents, single phase and three phase circuits, and series and parallel circuits. Ability to read wiring advanced wiring diagrams. Knowledge of Ohms Law. Ability to use multi-meters to read voltage, current and resistance values. Must be able to troubleshoot advanced electrical circuits. d.Fundamentals of temperature and humidity measurement and control in air conditioning units. Understands the process of treating air so as to simultaneously control its temperature, humidity, cleanliness and distribution. Ability to use a psychometric chart to determine the results of mixing air having various properties. e.All types of HVAC systems and how each component within the system operates in conjunction with the other components and how that impacts the overall operations of the system as a whole. These systems include but are not limited to air cooled, water cooled, hot water systems, chilled water systems, VAV systems, steam heating systems and building automation control systems. f.Knowledge of Windows operating systems, office. 2. .Able to repair, adjust, maintain, retrofit and troubleshoot the following equipment: a.All types and sizes of refrigerant controls; compressors; heat pumps; split systems; packaged units; ductless splits; electric motors; electric motor controls; commercial furnaces, boilers, burners and related controls; water pumps; intake and exhaust fans; unit heaters (hot water, steam and electric); economizers; humidifiers; b.All types of capacity controls , safeguard controls; flame safeguard controls; pneumatic controls; electronic controls; multiple manufacturers building automation control systems; and static pressure controls. c.All types and sizes of air compressors, air driers and related accessories and controls; reciprocating chillers; screw chillers; boilers and related controls; VAV systems and related controls; VAV units and terminal boxes; steam generators. d.All types and sizes of cooling towers e.Various types of variable frequency drives f.All types and sizes of computer room equipment g.All types and sizes of glycol systems 1.Understanding of centrifugal chillers 2.Proficient in Soldering, Brazing, Combustion analysis, Advanced heat load and heat loss calculations, Cooling load calculations, Advanced navigation thru multiple building automation controls systems, dial indicators. 3.Excellent time management skills 4.Excellent verbal and written communications skills 5.Ability to prioritize multiple tasks 6.Excellent organizational skills 7.Must be able to work with and give direction to licensed boiler operators and mechanics. 8.Must be able to work overtime and on call as needed.
Required: a.Journeymanï¿½s license (or contractor C20) and at least ten years of trade-related work experience, OR b.Any similar combination of education and experience. c.High school diploma or equivalent GED certificate d.Must have attended factory training over the course of time in the trade Preferred: a.Multiple seminar certifications The hospital, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to combine any of the above required experiences, or to consider applicants other work related experience in order to meet the above mentioned requirements.
