The Cherry Creek North Ambulatory Surgery Center is a 4-OR and 2-procedure room multi-specialty unit including, but not limited to, General, Otolaryngology, Urology, Breast Surgery, GI, Plastics, Occuplastics, Ortho, GYN/Oncology, Pain, Cardiology, and Vascular procedures. It is a state of the art building in the heart of Cherry Creek that provides convenient access and exceptional customer services for patients living in the area. The Cherry Creek North Ambulatory Surgery Center’s procedural hours are Monday-Friday from 0700-1700.
We are looking for candidates who have the experience and knowledge in caring for patients in a multi-specialty environment who are highly motivated and engaged to contribute to our perioperative vision of culture of excellence. Candidates need to be flexible to float to other UCHealth facilities as needed.
The UCHealth Cherry Creek Medical Center brings the expertise of the highly reputable UCHealth, and physician partners with both UCHealth Medical Group and the CU School of Medicine to the Cherry Creek community.
Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment and supplies.
Ensures good working order of equipment and instruments. Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
Passes instruments to physician during surgery. Continually accounts for number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery.
Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory.
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Credentials: Essential: * Basic Life Support * Surgical Tech * Surgical Assistant
Other information: Minimum Required Education: High School diploma or GED. Surgical Technologist program. Required Licensure/Certification: State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration. Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider. Preferred: Certified as a Surgical Technologist (CST) by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA). Minimum Experience: None required.
BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire. All life support certification cards must be issued by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. (American Red Cross for the Professional Rescuer is only good upon hire and all renewals will need to be through an American Heart Association sanctioned course.)
